MAC 217 vs Sigma E25

Hello lovelies

I know many of you heard / know how great MAC 217 make up brush is, but the price don't come cheap US$24. But for me it's well worth! If you don't know MAC 217 and don't know how it looks like, here is the picture of the brush...

This is the most perfect blending brush! The brush has fine, densely packed fibers that are arranged in an oval shape.

I understand that some people don't want to spend that much money on a single brush, especially if you are just getting started in the realm of make up. As far as dupes go, Sigma E25 is the really close, and it cost US$12 (half of MAC 217 price!). But I can't safely say it's the exact dupes.

Since Sigma E25 is semi-dupes for MAC 217, let's do some comparison here, shall we :) ?

Let's look at the length for both brushes...

As you can see, the Sigma E25 (17.5cm) is longer than the MAC 217 (16.4cm). For me, longer or shorter handle is nothing different for me. But the quality of the handle is really obviously different. The MAC 217 handle is like, more classy looking to me, rounder and tougher. While the Sigma E25 is more sleek and glossy finish. And if you look closely enough, you will notice their font is different too. The Sigma E25 font is stamped with holographic writing, looks more glittery sparkly. While the MAC 217 is stamped with silver writing. I personally prefer MAC's one, more professional looking :D

For the bristle, the MAC 217 (right) is obviously more rounded, more domed and tight looking. While the Sigma E25 (left) bristle is thin, a not as tapered in. When apply on the eyelid, the MAC 217 feels like luxurious on the eyelid XD

Lastly, let's take a look at the manufacturing country. How interesting that MAC 217 made in Japan which is different comparing to Sigma E25 and other brushes company, where majority of them made in China.

So both of these brushes do excel in certain way. I personally prefer MAC 217 but that doesn't mean Sigma E25 is not good, I do recommend getting the Sigma one if you are on the budget side.

I hope you find this helpful if you are struggling which brush to purchase :)

DO YOU OWN ANY THESE BRUSHES? WHICH ONE DO YOU LIKE BEST? LET ME KNOW!

xoxo
