[ Review ] IOPE Air Cushion XP

I hope you all are doing well :)

Today I am going to review and swatch IOPE Air Cushion XP. IOPE is a Korean brand and was one of the first company to release a BB cushion into the market. Apparently, this is a revamp of their prior air cushion with improved formulation. I never try their previous formula so I can't really tell what's the difference between the old and new formula. Anyway, I have high expectation on this because it is the BEST selling foundation/BB cushion in Korea!

The packaging has a glossy finish with dark blue in color all over, except for the top lid which is silver in color. As you can see from the packaging, everything is printed with Hanguk (Korean language) except for the brand name IOPE Air Cushion SPF 50 PA+++ and the color shade I got.

When open the box, you will see a round IOPE compact white in color with a refill and a some kind of booklet.

The compact itself is really classy. But I must say it is a bit bulky in size, yet still travel friendly.

Here is how it looks like when open the compact. You will see a large mirror, which I find really really helpful *thumbs up* and a special puff call "air puff".

The air puff is specially made for cushion foundation/BB. I have a love and hate relationship with this air puff. I love the air puff as it gives a cooling affect when apply the product with the air puff on the face. It also gives a really nice glowy finish as the Korean stars have! But I hate it that it is so difficult to clean the air puff and it gets dirty quite easily the white color side.

It has a second lid/compartment for the puff and keep the foundation/BB from drying.

They use a sticker to seal the foundation/BB cushion.

When I first took the seal away, I can smell a nice scent from the cushion. But don't worry, the scent has faded away now :) I don't really like my make up have some fragrance in it. Because I have sensitive skin and sometimes my skin react o some fragrance make up. Thank God this did not :D

Here's a closer look at the cushion. The cushion is really soft, so have to be careful when use it with the puff.


Oh! Did I mention that you can pop the refill in when you finish the product?

Just a simple push at the bottom and you can change the refill. With this, you can re-use the compact and you can buy the refill separately.

❤ Texture ❤ 
The texture of the foundation/BB is kinda watery(?) creamy but yet it's not like slippery type. And when apply on the skin with the puff, it's really cooling and refreshing I must say :) You won't feel thick and heavy on the skin.

❤ Color ❤

 

I have the shade C23, which is the darkest shade they offer. I'm not surprise because Korean BB cream or foundation shades are always very limited and really fair tone. 

There are actually 3 types:

N stands for Natural

S stands for Shimmer

C stands for Cover.

Natural and Cover comes with 2 shades which is 21 the lightest and 23 the darkest. Apparently Shimmer comes with 1 shade only.

The reason why I bought the Cover one is because I wanted to cover my imperfections. It has medium coverage.

❤ Swatch ❤

As you can see the swatch above, it gives a nice dewy finish (which I personally like) and it has a yellow tone. 

❤ Overall ❤

Overall I think it's a great product for touch-ups :) However, I don't think the staying power is great, it stay on for about 3 hours without any primers. And when the weather gets really hot, you need to set it with a powder just to keep the product on place. I really love the cooling effect it provides though. And it is really natural on the face without looking cakey and fake. If you have oily face, I don't think this is the product for you as it doesn't control oil really great. But if you have normal skin or dry skin as I do, you will love this♥

Cons:Not sweatproof as it claims to be

     The air puff is really difficult to clean

     Quite pricey 

     Limited shade
