[ Review ] Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream Swirl Compact SPF 30 PA+++

Hello loves

Remember my Clinique Haul back in May? I hope you do *wink* I bought their new Moisture Surge CC Cream Swirl Compact :) And after testing it for some times, I think it is time to write a review for it.

*Remember to click on the picture for better view*

I believe many of you had already know the Clinique CC Cream with the tube one, or even tried/own one in your make up collection. This is their new CC Cream in compact size. I always looking for compact size make up for touch up when I'm on the go. When I saw their advertisement on their social media, I thought to myself, hmm....I should give it a try since I heard lots of great review about the tube CC Cream one. Will this compact one same as the tube one? I don't know, cause I never try their tube one before :( You guys be the judge k? :D

❤ Packaging
front
The packaging of the CC Cream Swirl Compact is Clinique's classic green in color with the silver embossing logo and darker green color printed letters.

I was really excited to try the product when I first saw it was made in Japan!

back
At the back has all the ingredients listed. Reading through the ingredients, it feels safe for my sensitive skin :)

I got the shade Natural Fair and on the packaging, it claims that it is for very dry to dry combination skin. I have really dry skin, sometimes oily at the nose and cheek area. I am really curious and excited how this CC Cream compact will perform on my skin.

This is what it came with in the box. A white sponge, the CC Cream refill and a booklet thingy with all the information.

The back of the refill has a sticky glue for you to stick on the actual compact, which we need to purchase separately. I find it kinda funny cause, when you place/stick the product on the the actual compact, the glue is very sticky and it is really difficult to take it out again to change a new refill. So, I feel that if I finish the product, I have to buy the compact again for the new refill and it is really a waste of money.

The compact has a mirror lid with the Clinique embossed on top.

I like the fact that they put some details on the clip(?)

The refillable compact has 2 compartments. Top section is for the refill CC Cream and the bottom section is for the sponge.

This is how it looks like after placing the refill into the compact.

❤ Texture ❤
The texture of the CC Cream is creamy and it swatch beautifully on my hand. After blending the product on my hand, it feels so weightless and feel nothing at all! Which is a good thing :) Since this is a cream compact product, I though it will feel a bit heavy on skin, but this does not. The coverage is about light to almost medium.

❤ Color

The CC Cream offers 3 shades to choose. The lightest shade called Natural Fair, medium shade called Natural and the darkest shade called Natural Beige. As you can see on the picture shown above, I bought the Natural Fair shade cause when I browse through their website, I saw the shades were kinda dark in color. Maybe it's my monitor? I don't know. I just buy with my feel and I think the lightest shade they offer is going to match my skin tone, since I am between MAC NC15-NW20. It is always a bad thing to shop something like foundation online, because you can't even tell how the shade exactly looks like. We can't make any swatch and when you bought the wrong shade, you can't even return it in Malaysia. So I do suggest that go to their counter and swatch it yourself.

And if you look closely at the product, you will see there are 3 different colors swirls in it. I believe the white color swirl is for brightening effect. As for the pink color swirl is for healthy skin looking and the peach color swirl for coverage. Well, that is just my personal preference haha!

❤ Swatch

As you can see the swatch on my wrist, the color match is good and what I like about it is, it has a warm natural tone. Unlike other CC Cream which has a pink tone in it. I understand that pink tone makes our skin looks brighter and fairer, but it doesn't really match well on most of our Asian skin tone.

❤ Overall
Overall I think this CC Cream is a ok product for me. Although it swatch beautifully on my wrist and hand, but not on my face sadly. I guess that my face is too dry for this product to work BOOHOO!!! I really wanted to love this product cause it doesn't have the pink tone to it. Sigh... I guess I have to stick back with my old BB Cream. Of course I did give this a lot of chances to work on my face, but everytime I apply it, it accentuate my dry skin and it just feels like sitting on top of my face. My face just don't like the product :(

But I believe it works better on normal skin, not dry skin. If you have dry skin, I think you should stay away from this product. If you have normal skin, then you are lucky.

And this product doesn't come cheap. It is really expensive for a CC Cream. I am thinking to sell this product away since I only used it 3 times only. If you are interested with this product and wanted to try it out, please e-mail me :) I don't wish to throw it away but wanted to let go for people who want it.
