Make way for the most epic biennial multi-sport event,
the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 2017)
that will be held right in Malaysia! Woohoo!!!
It's time to get pumped, especially if you are Malaysians because Malaysia is the official host this year :D
The 29th SEA Games 2017 or better known as KL2017 is packed with 38 different sports competing for the GOLD *bling*. The opening ceremony will be on the 19th August, which is something we are all looking forward to and it's few days away only! We are talking about performances, music, the mega nation parade from each participating countries, colorful visuals and so much more! Ooh I can't wait for it *claps*
Oh, speaking of which, Traveloka is one of the official GOLD sponsors for this event.
What? Who is Traveloka you ask? Traveloka is an online travel agency. So you know what that means right? No, you say? Tsk tsk! Let me explain, *ahem* since Traveloka is an online travel agency and is sponsoring this event, loads of promotions will be coming along! *YAY* Make sure to check it out *wink*
// Countries Battle It Out //
If you ask me, they really go all out to prepare this event. It's big for all participant countries, I can say. Aside from Malaysia of course, other countries that will be participating are Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippine, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam. Each country has their own star power which will sure to be one heck of a rumble this year around.
// Venues To Look Out For //
This year, there will be 36 venues allocated for Kuala Lumpur 2017, 19 venues will be in Kuala Lumpur, 10 venues will be in Selangor, 3 venues will be in Putrajaya, 2 venues will be in Negeri Sembilan, and 1 venue each will be in Terengganu and Kedah. The main venue for this SEA sports event will be held at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium. I did a little research and found that they have upgraded wicked new velodrome in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan to host track cycling sports. With the upgrades made, cycling will be one of the sports to definitely check out.

Get ready everyone because there are 38 sports competing for this year's multi-sport event! New sports that were introduced to the Games for competing this year will be Bridge, Cricket, Ice Hockey, Ice Skating, and Tarung Derajat. A quickie for those who wondering what Tarung Derajat is all about. Tarung Derajat is a body contact hybrid martial art from the West Java, Indonesia. This new addition to the Games will really make things interesting, don't you think?
// Tunjuk Belang! //
The official song for KL2017 reflects the culture and traditional element Malaysia is widely known for. The melody combines both modern and traditional instruments, with inspiring vocals from local superstars, Lan from Azlan and the Typewriter, Malique from the legendary hip hop duo Too Phat from the 90's, and MonoloQue. The lyrics are very inspiring with Malay traditional quotes on strength, team work, and power. It certainly brings back memories to other songs like ''Standing In The Eyes of The World'' by Ella that really puts the mood for you to chase down your dreams and win.
It's time to grab those SEA games tickets because with so many sports to go to and teams to support, you might need to put out your own schedule so that you won't be missing out on any of your favorite teams competing *wink*
