[ Review ] Maybelline Super Cushion Ultra Cover Cushion

Hello my angels ❤

We all know that the cushion foundation is super popular since K-beauty hit the world by storm. And after so many years, it shows no signs of stopping. Maybelline had joined the bandwagon and launched their first super BB cushion fresh matte (I believe it is) last year. This year, they'd launched the brand new cushion foundation called Super Cushion Ultra Cover Cushion.

Judging from the name, this cushion foundation has high coverage. But does it lives up to its name? We shall see...

I've been playing with this cushion foundation for few times and it's time to show you my thoughts about it.

The box packaging shows the name of the cushion foundation with the name of the shade. First of all, I like that the fact that this cushion foundation has SPF 50+ PA+++. Always remember to protect our skin from the harmful UV rays.

Please excuse the reflection of my strawberry casing XP
I just found out that most of my pictures were photobombed by my strawberry casing haha!
At the top corner of the box packaging, it has the shade of the cushion foundation too. Sadly, it comes with 2 shades only. I really hope that they will bring out more than 2 shades. The shade I chose is the lightest shade that they offer, Natural Beige. The other shade is called Sand Beige.

Picture shown above is the sides of the box packaging. It has the Japanese language written on it which I don't understand. Thank God that the ingredients list is in English.

At the back of the box packaging, more Japanese language.

The Maybelline Super Cushion has the typical cushion foundation packaging. It looks very sleek with its black color packaging.

At the bottom of the packaging, it shows the manufactured date. Although the manufactured date shows last year, I just saw this up on the shelf from my local Watson recently.

This cushion foundation has a click closure just like any other cushion foundation brand out the market.

The first thing I notice when I open the compact is how bold the ribbon stripe is. I love the wider width of the stripe, feels more secure while using the puff compare with the thinner width.

The same air cushion puff as the others. Great for touch-ups but a bit of struggle when it comes to the corner of the nose. I need to use a makeup brush to get the corners.

The actual product was sealed nicely to keep it's freshness and hygiene purposes.

Since the cushion foundation is very new, gently tap on the sponge will do to get the product. I didn't find any fragrance or funky scent to the product and that's a huge plus for sensitive skin like me.

Here's a swatch of the cushion foundation. It has a velvety finish to it, almost skin-like. And the coverage? It has a medium to full coverage. You can build up to full coverage with simply 2 layers of the cushion foundation. It covers my freckles beautifully with just one layer. Definitely lives up to its name. The foundation looks a tinge too yellow on my skin. But that's not a huge huge problem for me, still able to work with it.

The cushion foundation won't feel very heavy despite it is medium to full coverage. Of course you will feel it's there on your skin, but still, it's not like Oh My Gawd MY SKIN CAN'T BREATHE! If you know what I'm saying LMAO! The cushion foundation feels velvety at first after applying on the face. But after a few hours, it gives a slight glow to my face. It's like, the product has melted to the skin. Not sure if this is a good sign for oily skin babes. But for me, it's fine since I have normal to dry skin. Talk about dry skin, it doesn't cling as much as other foundation I've tried, still bearable. I do need constant touch-ups with a clean blending brush for my laugh lines.

Overall, it is an okay product for me, don't hate it nor love it. I will continue using this cushion foundation for special occasion since it has a high coverage. But definitely not an everyday foundation. The price point is okay for me, it costs RM 65.95 and easily found it at your local Watson.

What are your thoughts about this cushion foundation? Will you purchase it and give it a try? Would love to know your comments :D

Love,
