[ Review ] Klair's Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50 PA ++++ & Bonus Mid-Day Blue Sun Lotion SPF 40 Comparison

Hello my angels ❤

Summer has come to an end and Autumn is here to say hello. The weather is getting chilly, perfect for some hot chocolate or Pumpkin Spice Latte and feel the wonderful crisp sound beneath your feet of the crunchy leaves. Although Summer is over, that does not mean we can put our SPF aside.

Sunscreen is very important as the SPF blocks the UVB rays, which can cause sunburn and the UVA rays will cause deeper skin damage such as wrinkling and premature aging. Hence, we need to apply sunscreen every day at the last step of our skincare routine, not just in the Summer.
Well, I can understand that although sunscreen is very important but, many of us still feeling meh about applying SPF. We hate the greasiness feeling on our skin, the flashback while snapping for some good selfies and some of us are even sensitive to sunscreen (yes, that's me)

A few weeks ago, Klairs had launched their new sunscreen, the Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50 PA ++++.

But does it feel greasy like other sunscreens? Does it have any white-cast after applying it? Could this be my favorite holy grail sunscreen?
We shall see :D

I was extremely excited when I read their announcement about the launch of new sunscreen and cannot wait to get my hands on it. According to their website, the Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50 PA ++++ is an everyday sun protector for sensitive skin. Hello, that's me, sensitive skin, thank you *raise hand*
It has a high SPF and PA level, which can guard our skin against the harmful UV rays. Not to mention, it is Cruelty-free and Vegan-Friendly ❤

Now let's start with the review, shall we :D

The packaging is very mesmerizing with the exact look of the tube but in holo. It's like the rainbow in the tube haha!

They have the ingredient list at the back of the packaging. Not to worry if you can't understand the Korean language on the packaging, Klairs is very kind and they do have in English translation printed on the packaging as well, huge plus!

It comes with a white squeezy tube which I love and a silver chrome cap. Sleek and clean! I find squeezy tube more hygienic to use compare with a jar form. The tube has the same theme going with their Freshly Juiced Line.

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence is a water-based sunscreen, but it has a gel-like texture to it. It blends beautifully and soft on the skin, very comfortable. It doesn't feel heavy nor has any white-cast after applying, lo-lo-love it! This sunscreen wears nicely under the makeup, it doesn't balls up or peel up.

For my Klairs fans out there, I know you will ask what is the difference between this Soft Airy UV Essence with the Mid-Day Blue Sun Lotion? Because I ask myself this question too and I was curious to know. I was lucky that I own the Klairs Mid-Day Blue Sun Lotion and I made some comparison between the two for those who ask the same question.

Both Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence and Klairs Mid-Day Blue Sun Lotion has a squeezy tube. But the Mid-Day Blue Sun Lotion comes in a blue color smaller tube. It contains 50ml of product while the Soft Airy contains 80ml of product, that's 62.5% more! Not only that, the Mid-Day Blue has only SPF 40 with PA ++, while the Soft Airy has higher SPF and PA level.

Although it sounds like the Mid-Day Blue is very dull compared with the Soft Airy, it does has its own specialties. The Mid-Day Blue is Cruelty-free and Vegan-friendly as well. Besides that, it is Ethanol-free, Paraben-free, Silicon-free, Steroid-free, artificial coloring-free and artificial fragrance-free with a balance of pH6.6 value.

If you compare both of the sunscreen side by side, you will see Mid-Day Blue has a light blue tint of color. This is due to the guaiazulene ingredient. Mid-Day Blue has formulated with guaiazulene that calms irritated skin and tone down the redness of the skin. As you can see the comparison swatch above, Mid-Day Blue leaves the skin looking fairer. So remember to apply this sunscreen along with your neck as well to blend in the skin tone evenly. No one likes the eagle look. The texture is watery and spreads easily on the skin.

Overall, I personally love the Soft Airy more than the Mid-Day Blue one. Not that the Mid-Day Blue is no good, I like how the Soft Airy one feels soft and comfortable on my skin, not to mention the high SPF and PA level. And I like how the Soft Airy can easily reapply on top of my makeup. I have been wearing this sunscreen for a week now and I'm happy to say that, finally I have found a sunscreen that is suitable for my sensitive skin :')
